No short takes, here. Take five with a Mumbai star-cast has a bong connection.
After producing Bong Connection — directed by Anjan Dutt — it's time for Joy Ganguly to establish some Mumbai connection. And that's precisely what he is doing with co-producer Soumo Ganguly. The duo is producing a Hindi film, Take Five, conceived and executed in Kolkata, directed by a Bengali, to be shot in Kalimpong and Darjeeling.

Local talent will be sharing screen space with biggies like Kay Kay Menon, Rajat Kapoor, Sandhya Mridul, Simone Singh, Sonali Kulkarni, Parvin Dabas and Vinay Pathak. Adman Arindam Nandi, who is making his directorial debut with this film, says, "The story takes off when Kay Kay Menon and Sonali Kulkarni go for their honeymoon to Darjeeling and Kalimpong. They are about to return to the city when the wife discovers the husband missing. She confirms her suspicions about a stalker to the cops. As the narrative proceeds, fact and fiction blend into each other." The director adds, "The best part was when I narrated the script to the actors. The answer was in the affirmative."
To appeal to a wider audience, the film is in Hindi but interspersed with Bengali dialogues. Even the Bengali's love for adda finds screen space! Adds executive producer Arindam Sil, "The film is essentially a psychological thriller." Shooting for the film starts on January 3 in Kalimpong and some portions will be shot in Kolkata at the Bharat Lakshmi Studio. "The entire cast will be coming down to shoot in Kolkata," informs the director. The editing will be done by Arghya Kamal Mitra and cinematography by Aveek Mukhopadhyay. Here's another twist in the tale. Once Take Five is complete the producers plan to start work with Anjan Dutt once more. This time they are trying to rope in Naseeruddin Shah. Watch this space.
